Sharon Rebecca "Becky" King

Sharon Rebeca “Becky” King passed peacefully on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Nassau Baptist Medical Center with her fiancé, Davey Crews, by her side.

Becky was born to Kenny and Beverly (Tinsley) King of Fernandina Beach on October 9, 1975.  Becky was diagnosed with type one diabetes at eleven years old and has battled the many complications that it brought to her life.  In May of 2015 Becky received a kidney and pancreas transplant which gave her a new lease on life with her health.  She was no longer diabetic.  Becky became sick in 2019, was in the hospital for three months, and at this time her new kidney failed.  She had been on dialysis since that time.  Due to her illness and never being able to work for long periods, Becky became a member of the Ark Wildlife Care and Sanctuary.  She loved animals and Squirrels became her favorite to rehabilitate while working with the Sanctuary.

Becky is predeceased by her mother Beverly King, and grandparents, Jane and Dave Tinsley, and Zelma and Vernell King.

She is survived by her daughter Alexis Turner; dad, Kenny King; stepmom, Dale King; one brother, Dave King; aunts Barbra (Tinsley) Renshaw, Sharon (Tinsley) Silva, Gail (King) Jones; and uncles Mike Silva and Tommy King.  She leaves behind many cousins and friends.

A celebration of Life for Becky will be Saturday, March 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Church of God of Prophecy, 2712 S. 14th St., Fernandina Beach.
