Lisa Taylor Obituary

Lisa Ann Taylor, 56, of Jacksonville, FL crossed over to the arms of our Lord at her home on September 10, 2021. Lisa remained positive and in good spirits throughout her long battle with cancer and fought with the heart of a warrior.

Lisa was born in Jacksonville FL on January 26, 1965, to Joan Denny.  She grew up in Jacksonville and married the love of her life, Robin Taylor on September 19, 2012.  Lisa and Robin have one daughter, Zoe Taylor, age 16.

Lisa led a very full and colorful life. She had an outgoing and exuberant personality and lived life to the fullest.  Lisa brought love and laughter to everyone she ever met, and never knew a stranger.  She was a real people person enjoyed entertaining people and making them laugh. She always tried to make sure everyone she encountered was happy and having a good time. Lisa and her husband Robin formed the very successful rock and roll band “Lisa and the Mad Hatters” in 2004. Together they enjoyed many years performing, making music and making new friends at various local venues in Jacksonville and surrounding areas. Lisa began her career as a lead singer at the tender age of 15 when she and her brother Steven Denny formed their first band “Elder Young”. Although Lisa loved performing and was a very well respected and sought after vocalist, her main passion and focus in life was spending time with her loving daughter Zoe. Lisa was also a real animal lover and enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach.

Lisa is survived by her immediate family, husband Robin Taylor and daughter Zoe, stepdaughter Valerie Taylor and brother Steven Denny, all of Jacksonville.  Brother David (Denny) Cottrell and sister Lori (Denny) Harris, both of Fayetteville, NC.  She is also survived by nieces Jessica Denny of Colorado, and Amber Cottrell of North Carolina, and nephews Tyler Ritter of Jacksonville, Jesse Harris of North Carolina and Dustin Harris of the US Navy.  Lisa also leaves behind special cousins Kathy Johnson and John Battersby of Hilliard, FL and Tracy Noble of Australia. Lisa leaves behind numerous friends as well as special long time close friends Lara Hoffman, Bridget Geer, Melanie Gatewood and Kathryn Benson all of Jacksonville.  Lisa was predeceased by her mother, Joan Denny.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
