James Smith Obituary

James Ronald Smith, 68, of Fernandina Beach passed away May 6, 2021 at the Community Hospice Warner Center.

Mr. Smith was born in Homerville, GA and spent most of his life in Nassau County, FL. He was a member of the 1971 graduating class of Fernandina Beach High School. He was employed with Terminal Bag Company and with Amelia Island Transportation.

Mr. Smith was predeceased by his parents, John and Taunce Smith.

Survivors include his daughter, Amanda Smith Alonso of Lima, Peru; his son, Brandon Smith of Fernandina Beach, FL; brother, Ernest Smith; sister, Linda Herberlie; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He loved horseback riding, golfing, hunting, Western novels, and most of all – fishing. James was also a jokester.

Honoring James’ request, there will be no service.
