William Travis Cowart

William Travis Cowart, Jr., 36, of Yulee passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023.

Travis was born May 21, 1986, in Jacksonville, FL and lived in Yulee for the last 30 years.  He made his career working for Mooney's Custom Woodworks of Fernandina Beach.  He enjoyed the work and found pride in achieving new levels of craftsmanship.

Travis is survived by his mother, Tammy Cowart; father William Cowart, Sr (Gretchen).; two sisters, Sandra Adee and Nicole Salmons (Allen); his grandparents, James and Bonnie Davis; nephew, James and niece, Cheyenne; aunts and uncle, Robin and Michael Gregory, and Jenny Godbold; cousins Keiah and Thomas Wingate, and Stevie Gregory; and numerous other family members.

Travis was one of the rare souls who found the good in everyone he met.  If you were lucky enough to call him friend, you had made a friend for life.  His absolute loyalty for his family and loved ones was only matched by his love of all things automotive.  He lit up when talking endlessly about cars, motorcycles, and the clubs and meets where he met some of his best friends.  Through these connections, Travis found the way to live life on his terms with a community that welcomed him as a brother.  This loss is felt by many, but we may take some comfort in knowing that in the end Travis was doing the thing that brought him the most joy. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Green Pine Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
