William James Garske

William (Bill) James Garske Sr 1936-2024

On October 16, 2024 William (Bill) Garske passed away peacefully at home with his family in Yulee, Florida. He was 88 years old.

Bill was born June 22, 1936 to Robert and Helen Garske in Saginaw, Michigan. After high school, Bill served his country in the US Army. He then held multiple positions until he settled into his long-time career of engineering management and equipment installation in the baking industry. His employers included Rainbo Bread and included extensive travel with Campbell Taggert and APV Baker.

 Bill left a lasting impression on family and friends in Saginaw, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Peoria, Illinois, Leesburg, Florida, and final residence with daughter and son-in-law in Yulee, Florida. Bill enjoyed travel and a good crossword. Wherever he was, he enjoyed helping others. He was always known as the local handyman/electrician.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, step-father George Beardsley, wife Patricia (Benedict), previous wife Jane (Lough), son John Garske, and siblings Barbara(Robert) Stark, Bob(Lois) Garske, and Bernard(Bun) Garske.

Surviving Bill are siblings Helene(David) Murray, Charles(Patti) Beardsley and Richard(Karen) Beardsley. Survivors include his children Marjorie(Harold) Stark, Richard(Diane) Garske, William Jr(Carolyn) Garske, and Thomas(Tasha) Garske. Loving grandchildren include Carrie(Jason) King, Rachel(Corey) Curtis, Ashley(Joe) Stark, Christopher(Brandy) Garske, Michael(April) Garske, William III(Jessica) Garske, Jared Garske, Brittany(Blake) Garske and Ethan Garske. He is also survived by many beautiful great grandchildren.

We will forever remember his smile, wit and mischievous good nature.
