Virginia M. Powell

Virginia M. Powell, 90, of Callahan passed away early Sunday morning, March 22, 2020.

Mrs. Powell was born in Mullens, WV and moved to Callahan 28 years ago from Jacksonville, FL.  She was a member of Thomas Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.  Mrs. Powell was a devoted wife and mother and a devoted Christian.  Her favorite thing to do was go to church.  She loved helping people.

She was predeceased by her devoted husband, William H. Powell, Sr.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Bill and Beverly Powell, Jr. of Callahan, FL; her daughter, Willadeen Powell, also of Callahan; three brothers, Paul Musser, Jim Musser (Carol) and John Musser (Carol); five grandchildren, Jason Powell, Gary Powell, Jim Powell, Rhonda Harris and Darrell Harris; and five great grandchildren, Nicholas Harris, Austin Harris, Caroline Powell, Elizabeth Powell and Mary Virginia Powell.

A private ceremony will be held at Green Pine Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.  A public ceremony will be held at Thomas Creek Baptist Church at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Thomas Creek Baptist Church, 54322 Janice Dr., Callahan, FL 32011.
