Thomas “Tommy” Parker, 71, of Yulee passed away Saturday, September 12, 2020.
Mr. Parker was born in Douglas, GA and moved to Fernandina Beach as a child with his family. He served in law enforcement as a deputy with the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department and retired from the Putnam County Sheriff ‘s Department. After retiring, he returned to Nassau County.
Tommy was everyone’s Dad. If a child needed a home or a father, he was there to provide. He was a very social person – never met a stranger. He loved talking with people, about family, guns, his pets, and football, and loved doing so while enjoying his favorite foods, especially breakfast, buffets, or banana pudding.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sybil Parker; parents, Robert and Louise Parker; and by his oldest brother, James Robert “Bobby” Parker, III.
Survivors include his sons, Justin Parker, Raymond Parker (Bryana) and Kristopher Parker; daughters, Stephanie Wagnon, Kristy Davenport (Dale) and Kimberly Parker Simon (Rob); step daughters, Theresa Welsh (Jim) and Deborah Krause (David); a brother, Dwight Parker; two sisters, Judy D’Amato and Melissa “Penny” Rolling; 16 grandchildren, 2 nieces, and 1 nephew.
Funeral services with be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, at Blackrock Baptist Church, 96362 Blackrock Road in Yulee with Rev. John Kasper officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church. Interment will follow in Green Pine Cemetery.
