Samuel Vasquez-Ramos     ~    July 9, 1978 – July 7, 2022

Samuel Vasquez-Ramos, 43, of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away July 7, 2022 in Jacksonville, FL.  Samuel was born July 9, 1978 in Oaxaca, Mexico to Lorenzo Vasquez Ramos and Ines Simona Ramos-Agirre. 

Prior to moving to Fernandina Beach12 years ago, Samuel lived in Portland, Oregon where he met and eventually married the love of his life, Lea Leopold. 

Samuel worked as a landscape supervisor for Martex, now The Greenery, during his entire time in Fernandina Beach.  He was admired and respected by his workers, peers and managers due to his skills and work ethic, always with a positive and cheerful attitude.  He was always ready to utilize his vast arsenal of skills to help others, often without their asking.  His infectious smile and affable nature resulted in his having numerous loving friends.  His consistently cheerful attitude served to make those around him happy and lifted their spirits.  He also loved the outdoors, children, babies, animals and gardening.  Above all else, he was fiercely devoted to his family and loved spending time with them. 

Samuel was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lea, his parents and his mother in law, Linda Leopold, his brother Julio, and his grandmother and grandfather Maria Rios Ruiz and Maximino Vasquez.

Survivors include his siblings, Domingo, Carlos, Ines, Emma, Juan, Manuel, Antonio, Marlene and Candelaria Vasquez- Ramos, his father and mother in laws, Gary and Evelyn Leopold, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a funeral mass celebrated at 11: 30 Thursday, July 14, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Mission, 86000 St. Francis Way, Yulee, FL 32097. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Green Pine Funeral Home.
