Robert McCone Obituary

Robert Burley McCone, 91, of Fernandina Beach passed away Saturday evening, November 7, 2020 at Baptist Medical Center in Fernandina Beach.

Mr. McCone was born in Henry, Ohio and moved to Florida 30 years ago from Toledo, OH.

He was predeceased by his wife, Hazel McCone in 2006 and a daughter, Debbie Finch in 2015. We know that they greeted him with open arms at the Pearly Gates and a motorcycle for him to cruise the golden roads in the only way he knew how.

Mr. McCone is survived by his son, Jeffrey McCone (wife Sandie), and a daughter, Diana Knapp, both of Fernandina Beach, FL; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Riding motorcycles was a part of his life since childhood and he was a founding member of the Backrow Crowd Motorcycle Club. Robert enjoyed watching NASCAR and missed being a farmer. Robert loved beyond words, gave all he had and never met a stranger. He leaves with many hearts breaking but also rejoicing for he lived an amazingly fulfilling 91 years.

A ceremony to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
