FOXWORTH Robert (Bob) Earl, 76, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on December 6 after a prolonged battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Claudia, three children, Kasha Smith Harrell (Mark), Michael Werner (Elinor) and Olivia Werner, four grandchildren, Kayla, Marianne, Scott and Kevin, and one Rotary Exchange daughter, Klara, in addition to his brothers Michael (DeeDee), Dennis (Rosey) and sister Angela.
Born in Gainesville, Florida, Bob is preceded in death by his mother, Naomi Ruth Campbell and his father Al Vernon Foxworth. After enlisting in the Marines and serving during the Vietnam War, Bob worked in the motorcycle industry with Steyr Daimler Puch, before joining the cycling industry with Hunter Cycles, American Cycle Group, and Caloi USA. Once Bob started selling boats, Bob’s sales expertise had him winning top honors with Carver Yachts and Regal Boats until his retirement in 2015.
Bob was known in the neighborhood as the guy who could fix most anything. His mechanical ability with vehicles was a saving grace to many, not to mention his understanding of HVAC and plumbing challenges. He also had an extreme soft spot for those less fortunate and delighted in helping others he found deserving.
His love of animals was legendary, raising orphaned squirrels and raccoons, and rescuing other baby critters who needed protection. He delighted in the antics of his puppies and was a superior dog daddy in every way. Bob loved watching Miami football, enjoyed great food and wine and spending time in the Smokey Mountains with his family. In recent years, the grandchildren became a source of great pride and joy and Bob cherished moments spent with them more than anything.
Per Bob’s wishes, funeral arrangements will include being laid to rest at the Jacksonville National Cemetery (4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218) on Friday, December 12, 2025. Those attending the graveside service are asked to arrive by 10:00 am for the 10:30 service. A celebration of life will be held from 1-3 at San Jose Church of Christ Family Life Center (FLC) (6233 San Jose Blvd W) for all friends who wish to comfort the family and share Bob stories. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to K9’s for Warriors (k9sforwarriors.org), Dylan’s Dream (dylansdream.org) or an animal charity of your choice.
