Ricky Strickland Obituary

Ricky Daniel Strickland, 53, passed away February 10, 2020 at his Fernandina Beach, FL residence. Ricky moved to Fernandina Beach 15 years ago from Waycross, GA.

He toured the world with Christian Raggae Group “Christafari” in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. He was also a Praise & Worship leader and a youth counselor. He was a loving man of God and a beloved and talented musician.

He was predeceased by his parents, Charles Bart and Doris Corrine Strickland; two brothers, Timmy Strickland and Rusty Strickland; and by his wife, Sandy Crowe.

Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Daniel and Brie Strickland; a daughter, Jordan Strickland; his wife, Kathy Rice; sister in laws, Tina Strickland (widow of Timmy) and Pricilla Strickland (widow of rusty); two grandchildren, Jazz and Olyver Strickland; and 26 surviving first cousins.

A memorial service celebrating Rick’s life will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, February 15, at the Laura S. Walker State Park, Group Shelter 1, in Waycross, GA.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made in Rick’s name to Celebrating Recovery.
