Reba Charlene Gasaway passed from this life July 16, 2025 at her home in Yulee. She was a blessed wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry of Yulee; daughter, Deniese Sephestine of Yulee; son, Darrell Gasaway of Okmulgee, Oklahoma and son, Keith Gasaway of Henderson, Arizona; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Mrs. Gasaway was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Essie Skates of Arkansas; two sisters, Vernell Capehart and Murlene Golden and brothers, Nathaniel, Winston, and Omar Lee Skates.
She was born at Point Cedar, Arkansas on February 19, 1941. She married her husband, Jerry Gasaway from Beggs, Oklahoma at Hot Springs on his birthday, February 18, 1942, and remained married for 64 years and just over 5 months. She faithfully stood beside him as he went in the ministry pastoring in Oklahoma, laboring at Bethesda Boys Ranch at Mounds, Oklahoma as well as laboring with Jerry to establish Belize Bible-Trade School in Belize, Central America, a program teaching young men about the Lord and taught them different skills by which they might care for families of their own.
There will be a ceremony celebrating her life at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at True Faith Christian Fellowship, 45019 Petree Rd., Callahan, FL 32011.
There is sorrow in our hearts for her loss, but we celebrate her life here today and not her death for it is only a time of sleep until that great day of resurrection. Therein, lies our joy and expectation.
