Ray Bynum, 70, of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away Tuesday evening, September 29, 2020.
He was born in Gadsden, AL and moved to Fernandina Beach in 2004 from Jacksonville, FL. He was retired from the U. S. Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran.
Mr. Bynum was predeceased by a son, Randy Morea; daughter, Wendy Colon, a sister, Patricia White and a sister in law, Linda Stapleton.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Ann Bynum; two sons, Jeremy Bynum (Natalie) and Scott Morea (Brandi); a daughter, Dolcy Panter (Kenny); his mother, Ann Rainwater; two brothers, Bob Bynum (JoAnne) and Lamar Bynum (Patsy); a sister, Joyce Doxtater (Steve); brother in law, Stan Stapleton (Debbie); thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Ray loved his family, and loved playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed cooking and entertaining, but above all else he loved to laugh and tell jokes.
A private ceremony will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer society.
