Phillip Ezzell Obituary

 

 

Phillip S. Ezzell, 76, of Amelia Island, FL passed away April 25, 2024.

He attended Springhill Baptist Church. He was a decorated civil servant and the founder and operator of Crane Safety Association of America, Inc.  Mr. Ezzell was a veteran of the United States Navy. 

He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Alma Jean Ezzell, who passed away in 2014.  Also predeceasing him are his parents, Johnny and Opal Ezzell; a brother, Tommy; and a brother in law, Harry Rose.

Survivors include his children, Michelle Curtright (Joe) of Callahan, FL, Kimberly Adams (Shane) of Jenkinsburg, GA and Jennifer Cole (Michael) of Yulee, FL; his siblings, Pat Rose and Larry Ezzell (Gloria); grandchildren, Joey Curtright, Alexis Crawford (Jimmy), Chase Curtright, Amanda Curtright, Shelby Wheatley (Andrew), Dustin Adams, Blake Young (Peyton), Cheyenne McDonald, Taylor McDonald and Phillip McDonald; great grandchildren, Caroline Crawford, Archie Crawford, Scarlett Curtright, Tyson Curtright, Cali Wheatley, Zoey Wheatley and Maverick McDonald; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ezzell was a devoted husband and father.  He loved his dogs and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, at Springhill Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Winburn officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow in Green Pine Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Nassau Humane Society www.nassauhumane.org.
