Norman “Buddy” Ogilvie, 96, of Fernandina Beach, FL, passed peacefully surrounded by the love of family on July 16, 2025. Buddy was born in Pineview, GA on March 13, 1929. He was the second oldest of seven children born to the late Carmen and Cora Ogilvie. He met and later married his forever “Honey,” Annette Ogilvie on June 15, 1951. They moved from Baxley, GA and made a loving home in Fernandina Beach, FL where they shared 64 wonderful years of marriage and raised their three children.
Our sweet Pop is survived by his three children, Larry Ogilvie, Pam (Ondrell) Ogilvie, and Karen (Mike) Harmon. His five grandchildren, Lindsey (David) White, Joshua (Janisa) Harmon, Alexis (David) Hagins, Kaleb (Alexis) Harmon, and Lydia (Cody) Davis. His four great-grandchildren Jacob, Emily, Hunter, and Cove, and his nieces and nephews.
Buddy shared his last few years with his faithful friend, Oveta Martin. They shared lunch and supper together most days and enjoyed going to church and small group on Sunday morning, Wednesday night dinners and Bible study, and participating in the Senior Adult activities at First Baptist Church Fernandina Beach. Dad loved to discuss what he learned at church and had a vast knowledge of the Bible. He had a deep love for God and this guided everything he did.
Buddy will be remembered for his contagious smile, and that joyful laugh could light up any room, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was known for his incredible work ethic and creativity, always putting his heart into everything he pursued. Pop’s love, kindness, and generosity were boundless, and he showed them freely to everyone around him. Most of all, he was a constant source of unwavering support for his family - always their biggest supporter and number one fan.
