Loretta Tin Luen Wong, 80, of Yulee, FL, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021
.She was born on October 15, 1940 in in rural Canton, China to the late Lau Pak Min and Fung Wang See.
Loretta is survived by her husband, Kenny and son Alex, but is preceded in death by her son, Alfred.
She and her husband emigrated from Hong Kong, where she was a nurse, to the Jacksonville, Florida area to start a new life and family. It is here that she was the most successful, as she was an entrepreneur running three different restaurants along with her husband for over 40 years from the Rice Paddy, Jacksonville, Florida in the seventies to the Bamboo House in Fernandina Beach, Florida from 1979 to 2001 and finally Borrell Creek Landing, Saint Mary's, Georgia from 1985 to 2016.
In every restaurant, she was well known to all of the regular customers, was very friendly, would stop and chat with them just to see how they were doing. Everyone enjoyed her company and were very sad when she finally retired to enjoy life and beyond.
In her retirement years she enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, family and friends, and especially liked cruises.
Viewing will be at 10 am Wednesday August 18 with funeral services starting 11 am at River of Praise Worship Center, 83410 St Mark Dr, Yulee, FL 32097 with Pastor Tony Wang from the Chinese Christian Church of Jacksonville officiating. Burial to follow where she will be laid to rest beside her son, Alfred.
After the burial, light refreshments and food will be available at the social hall at the River of Praise Worship Center.
