Kristy Deonas

Kristy Helena Deonas, age 51, passed away on September 14, 2024, in Fernandina Beach, FL.

Born on October 6, 1972, Kristy lived a life marked by warmth, positivity, and a profound ability to see the best in everyone she met. Despite her blindness, she navigated the world with an infectious laughter and an unwavering spirit that drew people to her.

Kristy graduated from Fernandina Beach High School and furthered her education at FCCJ. She dedicated a significant part of her career to serving as an Assistant Property Manager at Nick Deonas Realty, where her diligent work and cheerful demeanor were greatly valued.

Her faith played a central role in her life, and she was an active member of The Journey Church in Fernandina Beach. Kristy's love for music was profound; she was a weekly presence on the Howard Scott Show on Fishbowl Radio Network, where her knowledge and humor were a highlight. A proud alumni of the Madrigals from Fernandina Beach High School, she had the privilege of performing in New Orleans, Nashville and London. Kristy's love for animals was equally notable, especially her cherished dog, Penelope.

Kristy is survived by her father, Nick Deonas; (Lynne) her brother, Jamie Deonas (Janet); Aunts, Sue Underwood (Lamar) and Nellie Tiliakos as well as many cousins, and dear friends who felt her love and kindness. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Dale Deonas.

A Celebration of Kristy's life will be held on October 5, 2024, at 10:00 AM at The Journey Church, 95707 Amelia Concourse, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Journey Church in her memory. Kristy will be remembered not only for her joyous and accepting nature, but for the profound impact she had on those fortunate enough to know her.
