Jozef F. Grohol, 80 of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away Tuesday evening, August 4, 2020 at the Community Hospice and Palliative Care Warner Center.
Mr. Grohol was born in Bardejov, Slovakia, the son of Jan and Zofia Kozakova Grohol. He moved to Fernandina Beach in 2005 from Bogota, New Jersey. He was a Registered Histotechnologist and was one of the first to attain certification at the ASCP HT/HTL level. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
Mr. Grohol was a devoted father and loving husband. He loved to read and enjoyed studying world history. He was a sports enthusiast enjoying many sports including swimming, walking, cross-country skiing, soccer, ice hockey and other sporting activities. He was a devoted Christian and dedicated disciple of Biblical studies.
Mr. Grohol is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Lydia Grohol and his daughter, Kristina F. Grohol, both of Fernandina Beach, FL. He is also survived by four brothers and two sisters who reside in Slovakia.
