Obituary

Joanne Massengill, 81, of Fernandina Beach passed away Friday evening, July 28, 2023.

She was born March 24, 1942 in Catawba, NC and moved to Fernandina Beach 25 years ago from Jacksonville, FL.

Mrs. Massengill was predeceased by her husband, Buddy Massengill, a daughter, Hydia Massengill Browning and a son, Michael Massengill.

Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey M Massengill (Suzy) and Tony M. Massengill; a daughter, Tammy Troxel; eleven grandchildren, Nicole Massengill, Michael A. Massengill, Bodine Massengill, Candy Reese, Kendall Pirtle, Morgan Massengill, Garet Massengill, Megan Massengill, Kori Troxel, Matthew Massengill and Amber Gordon; many great grandchildren; and her dog, Piper.

Mrs. Massengill enjoyed going to the movies and watching Lifetime and Hallmark movies on TV. She also enjoyed auto racing and loved spending time with her family.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 3, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home.
