Joanne Mackowski

Joanne Mackowski, 64, passed away Wednesday evening, September 25, 2024.

She was born in Ashtabula, OH and moved to Fernandina Beach in 2002 from Jacksonville, FL. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

Mrs. Mackowski is survived by her husband of 22 years, Jim Mackowski; her son, William “Billy” Damato; daughter, Lindsay Damato; two step sons, Matthew Mackowski (Betsy) and Jeffery Mackowski (Emily); a step daughter, Allison Draven (Philip); and five grandchildren, Waylon, Alan, Charlie, Lily and Max.

She was a super single mom, and loving wife.  She enjoyed bike rides, day trips to the beach, beach condo vacations, cruises and pool time.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 201 North 4th St., Fernandina  Beach, with Father Eric Stelzer, celebrant.
