Joan Lee "Jo" Mauldin Obituary

Mrs. Joan Lee “Jo” Mauldin passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.  She was 95 years old.

Jo lived a full and vibrant life, defined by her kindness, generosity and love for family and friends.  She was an avid tennis player and continued playing the game she loved until the age of 91.  She also enjoyed playing bridge, was an active member of the Red Hat Club, and generously gave her time as a volunteer at the Peck Library.  Her active lifestyle and warm personality brought her many lifelong friendships.

Above all, Jo treasured her family.  She especially looked forward to spending time with her family in Charleston, where she delighted in playing games with her grandchildren.  She had a remarkable ability to learn new games quickly and always joined in the enthusiasm and a smile.

Jo was known for her thoughtfulness and generosity.  Every birthday was remembered with a card that always arrived on time, accompanied by a heartfelt message and a generous gift.  These small buy meaningful traditions became cherished reminders of her love for each member of her family.

Blessed with a sharp mind and an independent spirit, Jo managed her own finances and kept the records for many business ventures she and her husband shared.  She remained mentally engaged until the very end.  Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the memories that will be forever treasured.

She is survived by her beloved son, Grady Stanford Mauldin, III (Joanne), three grandchildren, Jodi Mauldin Dangerfield (Rock), Lindsay Mauldin Graham (Brandon), Taylor Mauldin Rushing (Dru); seven great grandchildren, Gray Dangerfield, Ry Dangerfield, Ross Graham, Cole Graham, Harrison Rushing, Wells Rushing and Reese Rushing.  She is also survived by her sister, Faye Agee and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Stanford Mauldin, Jr.

The family greatly appreciates Jo’s niece Deby Walker and the Walker Family for their loving care and faithful devotion to their Aunt Jo during her illness and throughout her life.

A celebration of Jo’s life will be held on Wednesday July 22, at Green Pine Funeral Home (96281 Green Pine Road, Yulee, Florida).  Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. with the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Church, 990 East 10th Spur 25, Woodbine, Georgia, 31569.
