Jo Ellen Lawrence

Jo Ellen Lawrence of Yulee, FL passed away on March 24th 2021. She spent her final days wrapped in her family's love. She was a caring wife, loving mother and an amazing Nana. She was raised in Kanawha City, WV, and has been a long time resident of Nassau County, FL. Jo Ellen met her husband Joe while working at a bowling alley her family owned, and over the last 45 years have been on an awesome life adventure together. They have 3 wonderful daughters and 9 beautiful grandchildren. She will be remembered by her coworkers and many on the island as Jojo who always greeted them with a smile and a laugh at Amelia Internal Medicine. Jo Ellen loved the simple things in life, escaping for her lunch break to the beach, taking her grandchildren to the park, hunting for shark teeth (although she never found any), and working in her yard. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren, Nana always had surprises for them, and never told them no.

Left behind to cherish her memories are her husband Joe Lawrence; her 3 daughters Christy Yarbrough and her husband Larry of Green Cove Springs, FL, Jan Cook and her husband Jay of Fernandina Beach, FL, Jennifer Armstrong and her husband Michael of Trenton, FL.; her 9 grandchildren Sarah, TJ, Emma and Charlie Cook,  Mikey, Mikayla, Macy and Molly Armstrong, and Olivia Yarbrough; also her brothers and sisters, several nieces and nephews, her fur baby Ruby and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Margaret and her niece Shannon.

There will be a celebration of her life at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 27, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie Hayes officiating.
