James Tiner Obituary

James P. Tiner “Captain Jim”, 56, of Fernandina Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, at the Warner Center for Caring. Born on August 24, 1968, James was a dedicated father and grandfather, passionate fisherman, and a beloved friend to many.

James had a profound love for the ocean, spending countless hours on the water as both an avid fisherman and a respected captain. His life was guided by his unwavering commitment to his family and the sea. A single father, James raised three children—Stephen, Amanda, and Dylan—with a deep sense of love, integrity, and care.

James was preceded in death by his mother Patrica Jean, who passed away in 2020. He is survived by his three children: Stephen, Amanda and Dylan(Kristi and Grandson Ethan), his father Johnny and three brothers (Jay, Tony, and Chance), aunts and uncles and many nephews, nieces and cousins, as well as others who were an important part of James’s life, and the family will forever cherish his memory.

Throughout his life, James made lasting memories with his family and friends, living each day with a quiet strength and a love for life’s simple pleasures. He will be remembered for his infectious spirit, his love for adventure, and his unwavering devotion to his family.

A private service will be held in his honor at a later date. James’s legacy of love and passion for life will remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be dearly missed.
