James J. Casadia, 80, of Fernandina Beach, Florida, formerly of Vineland, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, June 7, 2024, the Feast of the Sacred Heart.
He was born on February 1, 1944. He is survived by: his wife Val Casadia and two children: Tiffany Washechek of Fernandina Beach, and James Casadia of Tucson, Arizona; siblings: Anthony Casadia and his wife, Marie; Jo-Ann Sangataldo and her husband, Andy; Toni Mattioli and her husband, Louis. Grandchildren: Tessa, Iva, and John Paul; and his faithful dog, Dill.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Tony his mother, Rita, and his stepmother, Marie Casadia; son-in-law, Todd Washechek.
Jim was born in Landisville, NJ. He was a member of the Army National Guard. He was a kind man with a gentle spirit. He was known for his funny jokes, Italian cooking, green thumb, and his love for animals. He will be greatly missed.
The funeral mass is 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Saint Francis Catholic Church in Yulee. Interment will follow at Bosque Bello Cemetery in Fernandina Beach.
