Jacquelin "Jacque O" Osborne Obituary

Jacquelin Osborne, 78, of Fernandina Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born on November 29, 1947 in Macon, Georgia.

Jacque spent her life as a dedicated public servant who cared deeply about her country, state, and community. She spent many years working for the federal government, retiring from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where she worked in Travel Services.

Following retirement, Jacque moved to Florida where she served as the Nassau County Republican State Committee Woman. She was also active in the Republican Party of Florida, the Federated Republican Women of Nassau and Duval Counties, and the Nassau County Republican Executive Committee. She was a proud member of the Optimist Club of Fernandina Beach.

A true animal lover to her core, Jacque devoted much of her time to Nassau County Animal Services. She opened her home to countless foster kittens and attended County Board meetings to advocate for the animals in the shelter.

Jacque loved her friends dearly, too. She looked forward to playing Bunco with the girls, and those nights gave her some of her happiest memories and closest friendships.

She leaves behind her loving son, Derrick, and his wife, Mary; her cherished grandchildren, Christopher (and his fiancée, Morgan), Andrew, and Elizabeth; her sister, Barbara Yancey; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; and many dear friends, especially her longtime friends Bernice Wallace and Mary Lowe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Paul Sutton Sr. and Dorothy Christine Sutton; her brother, Sidney Paul Sutton Jr.; her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Sutton; and her brother-in-law, Doug Yancey.

Jacque had strong faith and even stronger convictions, and a big heart to go with them. She's gone home to be with the Lord now, and she leaves behind a legacy of service, patriotism, and love for the people and animals in her life. She'll be missed so much, but her memory will live on in everyone she touched.

The family wants to thank everyone who visited Jacque, called to check on her, prayed for her, and offered kind words during this difficult time. It meant more than we can say. We love you, Jacque.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11, at 11:00 a.m. at Blackrock Baptist Church, 96362 Blackrock Rd., Yulee, FL 32097.  The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.
