Hilda I. Martin

Hilda I. Martin, 84, of St. Mary’s, GA went to be with the Lord, our Loving Savior, Saturday morning, April 20, 2024.

Mrs. Martin was born in Callahan, FL and had been a resident of Camden County, Georgia since 1981.

She was a faithful member, until the end, of Camden Baptist Church in St. Marys where she enjoyed cooking and baking for church functions. She was known for cooking “the best” fried chicken.

Mrs. Martin was predeceased by her husband, Harry F. Martin, Sr. and 13 siblings.

Survivors include her children, Faith Dixon (Edward), Harry F. Martin, Jr. (Amy) and Tracy Collins (Gary); two brothers, Kerry Davis (Cecile) and Harold Davis (Ann); nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Martin loved her family and her church. Everyone loved her sense of humor and zest for life.

She was a cosmetologist until retiring at the age of 78, being the oldest hairdresser in Camden County, GA.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 29, at 11:00 a.m. at Camden Baptist Church in St. Marys, GA.  Interment will follow in Bethel Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Hilliard, FL.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the church.
