Helen Strickland Obituary

Helen DeLay Strickland, 89, of Yulee, FL passed away Monday morning, September 30, 2019.

Mrs. Strickland was born October 12, 1929 in Athens, GA, the same day that Sanford Stadium was dedicated. Since that first game at Sanford Stadium was between the University of Georgia and Yale, the doctor suggested she be named, Georgia Yale. Her parents; however, rejected his suggestion. She moved to Yulee in November 2018 from Gwinnett County GA.

Mrs. Strickland is survived by her daughter and son in law, Donna S. and Nigel K. Glover of Yulee, FL; a sister, Dot Collins of Macon, GA; two grandchildren, Devin Snell and his wife Kinsey, and Delaine Snell Gray and her husband Mike; five great grandchildren, Azalea, Hank, Chase, Shepard and Hailey; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Bennie Cohen Strickland.

Services and interment will be at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
