Harold “Ed” Brown, 81, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at his Yulee, FL residence.
Mr. Brown was born in Granville, NY and moved to Yulee in 1983 from Jacksonville.
He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Oceanview Lodge and a member of the Springfield Lions Club.
He served four years in the U. S. Navy and retired from the National Guard. He also retired from Swisher International where he was a machinist for 33 years.
Mr. Brown was predeceased in 2022 by his wife of 53 years, Linda S. Brown.
Survivors include his daughter, Rosalyn Wells (Steve); son, Harold E. Brown, Jr.; a brother, Lawrence Brown; a sister, Beverly Meade; grandchildren, Michael Anthony Briggs (Danielle) and Cydnie K. N. Wells (Ethan Dunman); two great grandchildren, Madelyn Dunman and Remington Briggs; nephew, Richard Holcomb and several other nieces and nephews.
Mr. Brown enjoyed hunting. He was a member of the C & C Hunting Club. He also enjoyed golfing and playing poker and was a wrestling fan. He was slow to anger and was a good-natured man who loved his grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 27, at Jacksonville National Cemetery with military honors. Those attending should arrive to assemble at the cemetery at 10:00 a.m.
