Greynell T. Shinn

Greynell T. Shinn, 82, (affectionately known as Mamaw) passed away Saturday afternoon, May 16, 2020.

She was born in Oceana, WV and moved to Jacksonville in 1965.

Mrs. Shinn was a member of Oceanway Assembly of God where she was in charge of the nursery department.  She also helped in other areas of need for the church.

She was a devoted wife to her late husband and a devoted mother and grandmother. 

She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, John E. Shinn and a son, Steve Paul Shinn.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law, John D. and Bea Shinn of Jacksonville, FL; a brother and sister in law, Kermit and Renva Toler of West Virginia; a sister, Yvonne Lovensheimer of Cincinnati, OH; six grandchildren, John Brandon Shinn, Kayla Renee Sikes, Brad Shinn, Trai Shinn, Chase Shinn and Matt Shinn; eight grandchildren, Raelin, Hailey, Morgan, Logan, Camden, Carter, Cooper and Reiley.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 23, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home with Dr. Ken Barney officiating.  Interment will follow in Green Pine Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
