Gladys Chaney Mott Browning, 92, passed away at home in Yulee, Florida on the morning of January 13, 2025. She was born on May 14, 1932, in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Joseph B. and Mary Chaney.
Gladys was a Charter Member of Blackrock Baptist Church where she worked in Sunday School with the young people and did many Christmas programs, skits and costumes. She also enjoyed working with her flowers and gardening.
Gladys Chaney Mott Browning is survived by her children, Glenda (Tom) Harvey, Eugene (Bena) Mott, daughter-in-law, Mary Mott and Robert (Joanne) Lee; grandchildren, Regina (Rocky) Davis, Chris Mott and Angela Garbarini (Edward); and great-grandchildren, Maria and PJ Garbarini. She is also survived by her sisters, Delores Langley of Tallahassee and Sarah Crownover of Orlando and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Gladys was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Glen Mott and Rev. W. H. Browning, her son, William Mott, and her brother Joseph Chaney.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 16th at Chester Cemetery in Yulee, Florida.
