Eric John Evenson

Eric John Evenson   6/1/58 – 2/16/25

Eric passed peacefully while at home surrounded by his family and friends in Yulee, FL. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, John and Doreen Evenson. Eric is survived by his wife, LuAnn Tipton, his son Jimmy Evenson and his wife Alexandria Evenson and two grandchildren, Connor Evenson and Madi Evenson, and his siblings, Elizabeth J. Evenson, Nancy J. Evenson and Peter M. Evenson. 

Eric was born second of four children in Menominee MI. In his youth, he and his family moved to several locations following his dad’s career. The places include Cary, NC…Pittsburgh, Pa….Atlanta Ga… & Brunswick, Ga. After graduating from high school (Brunswick High, 1976) he pursued a lifelong successful career as a meat cutter that started with Winn Dixie Groceries in Brunswick, Ga then went to Publix, then finishing his meat cutting career at Houstons in Yulee, FL.

Eric always had a passion for the outdoors and sports. Some of his hobbies included golf, jet skiing, fishing, gardening, and hosting a neighborhood oyster roast. Eric was also the most devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan that never missed watching a game. What Eric will be remembered most for is his kind heart. His friends would consider him one of their best. He will be missed by anyone that was lucky enough to know him.
