Dorothy Jean Taylor

Dorothy Taylor, 88, passed away September 13, 2024 at her Fernandina Beach residence.

She was born January 7, 1936, in Lumber City, Georgia, and moved to Fernandina in 1953

She was predeceased by her husband, James I. Taylor, who passed away in 2007.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by three sons and their wives, Jimmy and Evon Taylor, David and Kathy Taylor and Jerry and Betty Taylor.  She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Taylor was a loving wife and mother.  She loved her grandchildren.  She used to sing Bluegrass music and sing in churches.  She loved Christmas and would play the part of Mrs. Santa handing out the Christmas gifts to everyone.  She drove a school bus for many years and also worked at K-Mart.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 20, at Green Pine Cemetery.
