Dennis "Buddy" Champion

Dennis “Buddy” Champion, 63, passed away September 21, 2024.

Buddy was born December 26, 1960, in Fernandina Beach, FL.  After living most of his life in Fernandina Beach, he recently moved to Jacksonville, FL.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and a member of Bible Baptist Church.

He was predeceased by his mother, Mary K. Steffens, his father, Walter Champion; his grandparents, Dorothy and Clayton Swolds; brother-in -law, Jerry Hatton and siter-in-law, Marie Evans.

Survivors include his sister, Susan McCarthy of Austin, TX, step sister Margie Hatton of Yulee, FL and step sister, Melba Hickox, also of Yulee; brother, Robert Steffens of Fernandina Beach, FL and step brother, Jimmy Hickox of Yulee, FL.

Buddy loved working on cars and fishing with his dad.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Community Hospice & Palliative Care.

Services will be held at a later date.
