David Grady Minshew

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of David Grady Minshew, 96, of Yulee, on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

Dave was born in Homerville, Georgia. He honorably served four years in the US Navy, before settling in the Fernandina/Yulee area. Dave was employed by Container Corporation of America for thirty-eight years. He was able to enjoy a retirement that was almost as long as his working career. He was also a longtime and faithful member of Yulee Baptist Church.

Dave was predeceased by his wife of more than forty years, Laverne; his parents Willis and Corine Minshew; brothers, J.W. and Ira Minshew; sister, Madaline Testone; son, David G. (Dinky) Minshew, and son-in-law, Norman Lucio.

Dave is survived by his children Troy “Billy” (Sue) Minshew, Annette (J.L.) Burgess, Helen Lucio, Wayne (Mary) Jacobs, Reggie (Diane) Jacobs, Mike Jacobs (RaTree); eighteen grandchildren, fifty-five great- grandchildren, twelve great-great- grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and longtime friends.

A celebration of Dave’s life will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at 5:00 pm at Yulee Baptist Church. Dinner will follow in the “Fellowship Hall” immediately following the service.

Interment will be held at a later date in the Garden of Remembrance Mausoleum at Green Pine Cemetery.
