Chad S. Ballard

Chad S. Ballard, 43, of Fernandina Beach, Fl passed away peacefully Thursday morning, May 18, 2023 surrounded by family at the Warner Center for Caring after a long battle with cancer.

He was born March 3, 1980 in Jacksonville, FL and was a life-long resident of Nassau County.

Chad was predeceased by his mother, Linda Ballard.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Jessica Ballard; three daughters, Jaylyn Dean, Lauren Powell and Brianna Powell; his son Kobe Dean (Macy); his father, Harry Ballard; father in law, Ray Bushy; mother in law, Gail Kelly-Bushy; Sister in law, Rena Bushy (Justin); nephew; Jhase Bushy,  niece; Araya Haliday, brother in law Reine Bushy (Kayla) grandmother, Emily Thigpen; and two grandchildren, Layton Araujo Mora and Brooklyn Stivers.

Chad was a devoted Husband, Father, Son and Friend. He took pride in providing for his family and making memories to last a lifetime. Chad was a loyal employee of Manzie and Drake as a Land surveyor but could be found most weekends on the water. He had a lifetime love of fishing, jet skiing, and boating. He planned trips to the lake every year for his family and friends and could be counted on to cook the best low country boil for his annual Florida/Georgia party. He was always the life of the party, especially when his Dawgs were winning.

Chad made a lasting impact on so many lives in what was too short of a life. He will be missed everyday by those who loved him. We can try to take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering and that Chad knew he was loved by so many family and friends at the time of his passing.

There will be a celebration of life for Chad from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 11, at the Pirates Wood Club House.  The gathering will be casual so stop by anytime between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. to enjoy food, family and friends - just the way Chad would have wanted it.
