Angela “Trice” Patrice Benge
January 29, 1963 – August 31, 2025
Angela “Trice”Patrice Benge, 62, of Yulee, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 29, 1963, in Jacksonville, Florida, Trice graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and later earned her paralegal degree from the University of North Florida. She made Yulee home 42 years ago and became a dedicated member of the community. Over the years, she served in several important roles, including Head of Conference Services for Amelia Plantation, Secretary for the Clerk of Court of Nassau County for over a decade, and Secretary of Kingsland United Methodist Church.
On May 31, 1984, Trice married the love of her life, Gary Paul Benge. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in love and family.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Gary, and their three sons:
Stephen Benge and fiancé Shayna Ericksen of Fernandina Beach, FL
Matt Benge and spouse Jeremy Rhoden of Gainesville, FL
JW Benge and spouse Danielle Benge of Woodbine, GA
Trice was a proud and loving grandmother to 13 grandchildren: Kyle, Kelly, Stephen Jr., Cyanne, Morgan, Colby, Jenna, Landon, Cody, Brooke, J, Langston, and Ryleigh, and a cherished great-grandmother to 3 great-grandchildren: Elijah, Adeline, and Sadie.
She was the beloved oldest sister to:
Dana Wilkins and husband Todd; their children Todd Jr., Adam, and Curry; and grandchildren Olivia, Emily, Sofie, and Shepherd
Lisa Jackson and husband Kevin; their child Tabatha; and grandchildren Everly and Riley
Amy Messer; her children Will, Marie, and Forest; and grandchildren Myles and Elias
Trice was preceded in death by her mother, Anne Marie Clemons, her Granddaddy, Robert “Bob” Edward Clemons, and her Grandmommy, Edna Pearl Clemons.
A service to celebrate Trice’s life will be held at Yulee Baptist Church on Saturday, September 6, 2025. The family will receive friends for a viewing at 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
Trice’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
